This book is about an American family who moved to Canterville Chase, an old manor house which was haunted by the ghost of Lord Simon the Canterville. The ghost tried to frighten the family but they weren’t afraid of anything so the ghost failed every time. Only Virginia, Mr and Mrs Otis’ daughter, helped him.
One day Virginia met the ghost in his secret room, they spoke about his death, and Virginia decided to go to the Angel of Death to ask him if he could forgive the ghost. At the end the ghost died and the American family lived a normal and happy life.
I like this book very much because it’s sometimes humorous and sometimes frightening. I have loved ghost stories since I was a child and I think that this is very nice. But if I read them in the evening or at night I cannot sleep very well so I prefer reading them in the afternoon when there aren’t strange noises in the house.

I like The Canterville Ghost very much, because I love stories about ghosts with suspense.
In fact Oscar Wilde's book is about a ghost, who wanted to sleep in the Garden of Death, but he couldn't because he had murdered his wife three hundred years before.
The Angel of Death forgave the Ghost when Virginia, an American girl who lived in Canterville Chase with her family, prayed for him.

The book I read is a ghost story and it is about an American family who buys a house in England but this house has been haunted for centuries!
I like this story because the people who read the The Canterville Ghost can be frightened but they can also laugh because it’s a very funny story.
I also want to underline that the author of this book, Oscar Wilde, is a genius and so I think it is important to read it.

The Canterville Ghost is a humorous story. I like it when Mr Otis said to remove the bloodstain in the library and when Mrs Otis threw the bottle of "Rising Sun American Lubricator" at the ghost to stop him making noise.
A sad moment is when the ghost tells Virginia his story; he wants to die because he hasn't slept for three hundred years. I love the end because I think it is romantic.

To read The Canterville Ghost was very interesting.
It’s an exiting story of horror with a haunted house, but it is very funny, too.
The Otis family is a very strange family and everyone will enjoy reading about it.
Oscar Wilde was a famous author of a lot of kind of stories, for adults or for children, funny or sad, but all stories are fantastic!

Pip is a young, poor boy. He loves Estella, a beautiful but proud girl and he wants to marry her, but it isn’t possible because Pip is a blacksmith and Estella is a lady. But one day Pip becomes rich, and he has great expectations. Pip changes, he becomes a snobbish, and he forgets his friends. But what is really important: to be a gentleman or a good person? To have a lot of money or to have a lot of friends?

He falls in love, then he goes to London and becomes a snobbish gentleman. Money becomes important to him and he forgets his friends. But at the end of the story the boy learns an important lesson…
Do you think that Pip will stay rich or that he will return to his friend? You will know it if you read this book!
I love this book because it teaches us how beautiful life is if you haven’t got a lot of money.
Great Expectations is a book written by Charles Dickens.
It’s very nice, and the message is really meaningful: it tells about Pip, a young boy who’s poor, and he becomes a gentleman, but he understands that money isn’t important to be happy… you can be happy if you’ve got friends!
Read this book, it’s really interesting and funny, too!!

The story is about Pip, a poor young boy who becomes a gentleman when one day a lawyer visits him and he becomes rich. When Pip is poor he's a beautiful person but when he's a gentleman he becomes proud, unkind and very sad.
The most important message of the book is that money isn't important to become a gentleman, great expectations aren't important, but friends are important, very important. They help you when you've got a problem and nobody is happy when he hasn't got a friend.
Read the book, it's fantastic and there is a very interesting love story!!

Frankenstein, by Mary Shelley, is a book full of Gothic elements and it is an early example of science fiction, inspired by scientific progress. It is the story of a man who pretends to create a man, like God, but his creature and his ambition will be his own end.
The book is surely interesting and easy-reading and it makes us reflect about scientific progress, unlimited ambition and prejudices.
I liked it very much and I suggest that you should read it.

Mary Shelley's Frankenstein in my opinion is a big masterpiece. I liked it very much because the story is simply genial and fantastic. I particularly liked the figure of the monster, because actually he's not bad, and sometimes you feel tenderness for him.
Mary Shelley lost her mother early in her life, and she also lost her child; this two events are hidden in Victor's and in the creature's story. I liked the incredible landscapes, too, and the way the story is told. My favourite scene is the one about the creation of the monster. A strong advice for everyone: you must read this novel!

Frankenstein is considered the first science fiction story.
Written in 1816 by a woman, Mary Shelley, it’s the story of an ambitious scientist, who finding knowledge and wisdom, destroys his life.
“He puts together the thing”, writes Mary Shelley, but really this creature feels emotions and lives his life like other people do.
There’s the current issue of the “outcast”, because of his horrible appearance people refuse and hate the monster. This hate makes the creature bad, envious, he receives love and affection neither from his creator nor from his father.

The author of Frankenstein is Mary Shelley. It was an immediate success.

The main character is Victor Frankenstein, an ambitious scientist who wishes to make great discoveries. He gives birth to a terrible creature, “the being”.
The novel is full of mystery and terror. Is the creature bad or is it capable of feelings? In the book there are Gothic elements like the monster and the choice of the laboratory.

Mary Shelley’s story of Frankenstein is a Gothic novel and a science fiction novel too. It is a story full of passion, horror and mystery which can arise in the reader feelings of disgust but of pity, too. Frankenstein is an ambitious man who creates a creature, but doesn’t respect the duty that he has towards him. The creature, alone in the world, wants to take his revenge because the misery makes him evil. He does incredible and cruel things to get his revenge but at the end…
Frankenstein is a story that can make the reader feel sad and that can convey an important message: “Don’t be too ambitious in your life, because it can be
dangerous”.
